Reclaim Your Edge

Physician-led metabolic and hormone optimization for men who refuse to accept decline

For men who expect more from themselves—and from their healthcare—Metriq Health offers a comprehensive, physician-led approach to hormone optimization and testosterone therapy. We don't simply replace testosterone. We engineer integrated protocols that restore the vitality, strength, cognitive sharpness, and metabolic resilience that define peak performance.

Whether you're a Westlake Village executive seeking sustained mental acuity, an active Santa Barbara professional maintaining physical edge, or any man committed to extending his healthspan, our data-driven, personalized testosterone therapy and hormone optimization protocols pursue measurable, lasting progress.

The Complete Picture

While testosterone is foundational to male hormone health, it rarely tells the full story. Low testosterone often coexists with metabolic dysfunction, thyroid imbalance, chronic stress, sleep disruption, and lifestyle factors that must be addressed to achieve true physiologic optimization. Effective testosterone therapy starts with understanding these connections.

Peak performance is never built on a single metric—it comes from understanding and calibrating the entire system.

The Modern Challenge to Men's Hormonal Health

Multiple studies show that male testosterone levels have declined steadily for decades, with each generation averaging lower levels than the one before. The causes are multifactorial—environmental exposures, increased visceral fat, metabolic disease, sleep disruption, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and chronic stress all contribute.

This shift means that "normal ranges" may not reflect optimal levels for modern men. Many experience profound symptoms—fatigue, low libido, reduced performance—despite being told their labs are "fine." At Metriq Health, we don't rely solely on population averages. We evaluate your hormones in the context of your symptoms, biomarker profile, goals, and physiology to determine what optimal testosterone therapy and hormone protocols look like for you.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Our diagnostic panel spans comprehensive biomarkers, including:

  • Full hormone profiles
  • Inflammatory markers
  • Thyroid function
  • Insulin sensitivity
  • Cardiovascular risk indicators
  • Body composition and metabolic markers

This depth allows us to design protocols that address the full physiologic ecosystem, not isolated values.

We offer multiple delivery methods chosen based on your goals, lifestyle, and clinical needs.

Optimal male hormone health often requires addressing factors beyond testosterone alone:

Estrogen Management

As testosterone rises, some is converted to estrogen through aromatization. Healthy estrogen levels support cardiovascular and cognitive health, but excess can cause mood swings, water retention, gynecomastia, and fat gain. We monitor and manage estrogen to maintain balance, not suppression.

HCG Therapy

For men who wish to preserve fertility or maintain testicular function while on testosterone, hCG may be incorporated into the protocol.

Thyroid Optimization

Thyroid function significantly impacts energy, metabolism, and the effectiveness of testosterone therapy. We evaluate and optimize thyroid function when clinically indicated.

Metabolic Health

Testosterone optimization is most effective when metabolic pathways are aligned. We assess insulin sensitivity, inflammation, lipid profiles, and cardiovascular markers to ensure the foundation for hormone optimization is strong.

Expected Outcomes

Results vary by individual. The outcomes described reflect possibilities based on clinical experience and published research, not guaranteed results.
Every patient responds uniquely to testosterone and metabolic optimization, but many experience a structured progression of benefits:

(Weeks 2–6)
(Months 2–4)
(4+ Months)

Early Phase

  • Improved energy and reduced fatigue
  • Better sleep quality
  • Enhanced mood, motivation, and libido

Intermediate Phase

  • Increased strength and exercise performance
  • Visible improvements in body composition
  • Sharper cognition and more stable emotional resilience

Long-Term Optimization

  • Sustained vitality and endurance
  • Better metabolic and cardiovascular markers
  • Ongoing improvements in physique, performance, and recovery

Your progress is tracked through structured biomarker monitoring and transparent data dashboards.

A Physician's Perspective: My Experience with Testosterone Therapy

For years, I assumed that my declining energy, diminished focus, slower recovery, less productive workouts, changes in mood, and significant loss of libido were simply an inevitable part of getting older. Like many people, I accepted these changes as normal aging.

After undergoing a comprehensive medical evaluation, I learned that testosterone deficiency was likely contributing to many of the symptoms I had been experiencing. After carefully reviewing the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives with my physician, I decided to begin testosterone replacement therapy.

The impact on my life has been remarkable.

My energy and motivation returned. My workouts became productive again, recovery improved, and I began sleeping better. My mental clarity and focus sharpened, my libido returned, and I felt stronger, healthier, and more engaged with both my work and my family. Most importantly, I felt like myself again.

This experience taught me that responsible hormone therapy is not about chasing laboratory numbers or attempting to reverse aging. It is about identifying a legitimate medical condition, making an informed treatment decision, and carefully monitoring both safety and meaningful clinical outcomes over time.

For me, testosterone therapy did far more than improve a laboratory value. It restored a level of vitality, function, and quality of life that I had gradually lost.

My name is Dr. Tom Anderson, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Metriq Health. Although my own treatment was provided independently of Metriq Health, my personal experience has given me a profound appreciation for the impact that thoughtfully prescribed, evidence-based hormone therapy can have on an individual's health and well-being.

As both a physician and a patient, I understand the importance of careful evaluation, individualized treatment, and ongoing monitoring. Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone, but for appropriately selected patients, it has the potential to be truly life-changing.

Individual results vary. This reflects one patient's personal experience and is not a guarantee of outcomes. Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone; evaluation and treatment are clinical decisions made between a patient and their physician based on individual medical history, current health status, and comprehensive testing.
